Started in 1965 by two physicians as a department of a local hospital, Insight has grown to be the one of the largest providers of comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services in Michigan.

The Insight staff consists of a group of professionals who are dedicated to the client's recovery and personal well-being. During treatment, each client is under the supervision of a physician. The Insight staff have specialized credentials in the area of medical, nursing, and clinical treatment, who work to promote motivational and educational activities. They include social workers, psychologists, addiction counselors, physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, activity therapists, nutritionists, and many others. Our staff have many years of experience and have successfully treated thousands of clients.
We review our staff's credentials and skills on a regular basis to ensure that their skills continue to be the best possible. Also, we provide them with additional training and skill development activities. When clients come to us for treatment, we make every effort to match the client with a staff member who has the best skills to meet their needs.

We believed then, as now, that alcoholism, substance abuse and mental health problems are treatable family diseases; diseases that can be arrested, so people can learn to lead happy and productive lives.

As a pioneer in providing high quality care in the fields of substance abuse and mental health, Insight has helped rebuild the lives of thousands of people and their families. In 1965, as a nonprofit agency, Insight was formed with a mission to provide substance abuse treatment services. Since then, Insight has expanded its services from dealing with substance abuse to include mental health treatment. During this time, Insight established many firsts as a health care provider.
